The Teachings of Jedi_ Master Altair DarkAce
There is emotion, yet passion is not the master of peace.
There is passion, for without it one cannot find the strength of serenity.
There is ignorance, yet power may be found in seeking knowledge.
There is chaos, yet it can only provide half of the victory of harmony.
There is death, yet in it lies the embrace of the living Force.
The Force will be with you, always
--the Code of the Force, written by Jedi Master Altair Dark Ace
"There is emotion, yet passion is not the master of peace.”
The Jedi and Sith have different opinions of their codes; the Jedi believe that they must cut themselves off from emotion to achieve true control over their powers, while the Sith believe that emotion is a tool they can easily wield to get their way, and in that way both are correct, and both are wrong.
The Jedi deny themselves’ the added strength and power of passionate emotions, which allows them to use their better judgment and logic, but which also cuts them off from a vital asset and makes them less like living creatures and more like machines, which goes against the Harmony of the Force, and the peace which is obtained by everything working in unison.
The Sith believe that they can safely wield their emotions and turn that large powerful part of life into a mere weapon, something to be used and then be put away until they have a use for it again. This clouds their judgment by putting their raw emotions before logic, or even simple common sense. They seek peace in the means of control, which also goes against the Harmony of the Force.
Peace is not something you can force upon someone, nor is it something you can obtain merely by a lack of violence. True peace is obtained by seeing your emotions, feeling them, and calming yourself . If one were to stop feeling emotions, there would be little point in being alive, It is not right, to not feel, nor is it right to try and use those feelings as a simple tool that you can hang up on the wall when your done with them. It’s a part of you, as you are a part of it, you cannot escape it nor can you be the absolute master of it. But…..you can live with it, learn to make it a part of you.
"There is passion, for without it one cannot find the strength of serenity.”
Your emotions are a powerful thing, and something to be used wisely. Feel them flow through you, the searing heat of anger and hatred, the cold abyss of jealousy and fear, and the warm gentle embrace of joy and love. Let them lend strength to your body, let them nudge your decisions with compassion and passion, but do not let them control you. You must work as one with these emotions, you must see them as a living thing, and work together to obtain a bettering situation.
Push those feelings down from your mind, surround the center of your thoughts with detached calm. Think clearly, do not see a conflict through the eyes of anger or love. Mentally picture yourself as a bystander, hearing both sides of a situation and evaluating them as someone who has knowledge of both, or ignorance of both, would. Let passion give your arms strength to defend others, let compassion and kindness stay your hand from killing those who can be saved, no matter how impossible it may seem. Each and every one of us are capable of this, but it’s those who choose to act upon it, to use passion and serenity together, who will stand out from the crowd by being the ones to see both sides, and use their emotions and their calm logic to aid them.
"There is ignorance, yet power may be found in seeking knowledge.”
There is a saying, "Knowledge is power.” Deducting from that, we can assume that ignorance is weakness. This is not implying that ignorance is a bad thing, but neither is it a desirable one. Ignorance is dangerous, necessary but dangerous nonetheless, for without it one cannot know what it truly means to gain knowledge. Knowledge is not a simple toy to be handed down from one to another as one fancies, It is a treasure unlike anything ever seen. But even then, having knowledge is not where the true power lay. The true power is gained from seeking it, from surviving and learning from encounters and troubles, and from being changed by those experiences. Even this holocron is nothing more than a stepping stone for you who reads this to be able to gain more and different knowledge, better knowledge, and discover greater things using this stored knowledge to aid you in seeking that.
True power is not the same as a show of raw power. The commander on the battlefield is not there because he simply is the best killer, he is there because he sees the many subtleties of war and combat, and is trained on how to best use what he has, to bring about victory, whether it be against a small opponent, or against a grand army. He sees the advantage and disadvantage of every move he makes, and outsmarts his enemy with that, but he knows what he knows because of the knowledge he has worked to gain throughout his years. Because of his many experiences, the commander is able to remember and learn from the mistakes and victories of the past, and use those lessons to outsmart his foes. Ignorance is an essential necessity of life, for without it, no journey to gain knowledge could be made, and no power could be found from the lessons of those journeys of life.
"There is chaos, yet it can only provide half of the victory of harmony.”
Many people often mistake peace for harmony, which you will soon see are two very different things. Peace, is a lack of violence, and an air of cooperation towards the betterment of all; it is also often mistaken for a lack of war, which is simply a lack of violence while hatred, corruption, and suffering continue grow like a gaping wound while hiding behind false smiles. Harmony, however, is a balance of peace and chaos. The idea of a perfect world is a world where there is no war, no contention, and everything is peaceful. It’s a nice concept honestly, but it’s very flawed. There must always be chaos, for without it, peace would have no reason to exist. The very definition and meaning of peace would be quite useless as there would be nothing there for it to be the opposite of. If there was no chaos for peace to strive against, life would be absolutely useless and stale, because without even the chaos of friendly competition or the mad ideas of people who create great things that others doubt could ever happen, nothing would get done in life for there would be absolutely no reason or compelling factor to get anything done.
Harmony, can be seen much the same as Yin and Yang. View it as a wheel, and peace and chaos as the pushing and pulling forces acting upon it. Without one, the other cannot work nearly as effectively, and without either, nothing is gained. But without one, the other ceases to be needed and therefore will cease to have meaning. You cannot have just one, if you seek balance. Harmony is the balance of good and evil, light and dark…….peace and chaos.
"There is death, yet in it lies the embrace of the living Force.”
For every object or being that has a beginning, so too must it have an end. Mortality dictates that any creature who begins to draw breath, must eventually cease to do even that most basic of functions. A much argued thing, death is, whether or not it is the end or whether it is simply the next stage in a much grander journey, not many know. Yet the Force works in mysterious ways, defying the permanence of death’s cold grip. Obi Wan Kenobi and Yoda saw such examples, from the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn returning to speak with them, and Kenobi later showed that when he returned to aid young Luke. While many of the galaxy believe this as an impossibility, the Force wielders know it to be a little bit different.
What is it to die? To meet the end of your mortality, to be freed of the chains of age? Death is not a bad thing, it is not something to be feared or hated. It is merely another step in your journey. We are all going to meet our end eventually, there’s little that can stop it from coming about. But death is not the end, not by a long shot. Yes, it’s the end of your mortal shell, but it does not mean you will simply disappear into nothingness, for that is not the way of the Force. Where you will be taken, it is not known, but your mortal end, is the beginning of a much grander adventure. Do not fear what will come, accept that it will indeed come and that through it, you will become one with the Force. It is not an end, and as it has been shown before, you may still be able to contact those who have yet to join you beyond the door of life, should they need your aid. There will always be Death, but through it, you find the Force in a way you will never understand until the day your body is no more
"The Force will be with you, always”
No matter what happens, no matter who you meet, what you gain or lose, you will never be truly alone, for there will always be the Force. It will not leave you, as you cannot leave it. It is your ally, your friend, your mentor and your future. Respect the Force as such, for with that respect you will gain answers to many questions you may have. In the wise words of master Obi Wan Kenobi, "Remember, the Force will be with you…always
